Reasons Business Owners Might Consider Giving Gift Baskets

Managing a budget is a skill you are probably good at if you have your own business.  And with the recent economic climate, you also know the hardships of meeting that budget.  You may have considered allocating some funds to gift baskets for your clients, but gift baskets are expensive.  You may be finding it hard to justify spending the dollars on something that has no tangible return. 

On the other hand, gift baskets are marketing tools in disguise.  Gift baskets also have the ‘personal touch’, which is very important for any small business.  For certain clients, putting some of your advertising budget into gift baskets might actually gain you new customers. 

Consider these business reasons to give gift baskets for your clients: 

1.  Advertising products and services to new clients. 
This marketing strategy works if you have a potential client list established.  Include samples and discount coupons in a gift basket to potential new clients.

If you have new services or products to market, use gift baskets to inform past or current clients.  Happy customers are much more likely to try your new offerings. 

5.  To keep your customers loyal and tell their friends. 
Word-of-mouth advertising is both free and priceless, and loyal customers love to tell their friends about good business relationships they have.  Keeping your relationships with current clients is one way to bring in good, reliable business.
